Your reviews are doing one job. AI needs them to do another.

  REVIEW INTELLIGENCE

Reviews have always helped buyers trust and evaluate your products. Now they also need to help AI judge when to choose yours. Canonica identifies what matters to buyers, what your reviews reveal and what to ask next — turning reviews into the information AI needs to understand, compare and choose your products.

No store access required. Works with your review platform.

High review volume. Low decision signal.

THE REVIEW GAP

A product can have thousands of reviews and a strong star rating and still give AI very little to go on when deciding whether it suits a specific buyer.

“Love it” signals satisfaction. It doesn’t explain who the product suits, how it performs in real use, where its limitations show up or where customer expectations break down.

Sometimes customers volunteer that detail: “Great on off-road trails with slippery rocks, but I had to go up half a size because they felt narrow at the front.” Now AI has useful context on grip, sizing and fit. But most customers won’t get that specific unless you ask.

Your customers know what future buyers need to know. Your review form doesn't ask.

    WHY IT MATTERS

AI looks beyond your catalog and product pages.

AI systems like ChatGPT consider product information, reviews and other third-party content when deciding which products are relevant.

Reviews do two important things. They show whether real customer experience backs up your claims, and they add product details your catalog may be missing.

The richer and more specific those reviews are, the more AI has to go on — both when assessing your claims and when understanding, comparing and matching your product to a buyer’s needs.

The best review analysis starts before the reviews.

OUR PROCESS

    WHAT’S INCLUDED

Review Intelligence. One priority product.

Canonica goes beyond review analysis. We identify what customer experience confirms, challenges or adds to your existing product information, then turn those findings into specific additions and changes across your catalog, product pages and buying content.

We also design the review questions needed to capture what is still missing, giving AI richer, more credible information to understand, compare and choose your products. From $4,500. No store access required. Works with your review platform.

Everything you need to know before you start.

No. Most review-analysis tools tell you what customers like, dislike or mention most often. Review Intelligence goes further.

We first work out what actually matters when someone is choosing the product. Then we analyse your reviews against those buying decisions to uncover recurring experiences, differences between buyers or use cases, limitations, expectation gaps and where customer experience supports or challenges what you currently say about the product.

Those findings are turned into specific changes across your product information, product pages, buying content and future review collection.

The difference is not simply analysing more reviews. It is knowing what matters, what the reviews actually tell you and what your business should do with it.

Because AI doesn’t just rely on your catalog and product page to understand, assess and recommend your products. It also uses what customers say about your products to see whether your claims hold up, who the product suits, how it performs in real use and where its limitations are.

That matters because AI is increasingly helping buyers narrow the shortlist before they ever reach your site. If your reviews are vague, AI has less to distinguish your product from similar options or judge whether it is right for a particular buyer. Rich, specific reviews give your products a stronger case to be understood, compared and recommended.

Most platforms let you add custom review questions. That isn’t the hard part. The value is knowing which few questions will uncover the product details that actually shape the buying decision — who it suits, how it performs, where it falls short and what changes by buyer or use case. Those are rarely obvious, and asking the wrong questions just gives you more data without better answers.

Canonica works out what matters in the buying decision, what your existing reviews already tell you and what is still missing. We then design the few questions customers are best placed to answer. The platform gives you the form. The value is knowing what to ask so your reviews become a stronger source of product information for buyers and AI.

It’s the opposite. A blank “write us a review” box is the hardest thing to face — most people don’t know what to say, so they don’t bother. That blank page is what kills review volume in the first place. A dropdown asks nothing but a tap. Even the customer who writes nothing more than “love it” can still tell you Fit: Narrow, Grip: Excellent, Runs small because it takes almost no thought.

We don’t take away the free-form review box. The structured questions sit alongside it, so customers can still write whatever they want while giving you useful product detail they may never have thought to mention on their own.

The framework is deliberately short: normally just a few high-value questions, never a survey. You’re not adding friction. You’re giving customers more guidance and capturing useful product detail even when the written review itself is brief.

The goal is not to turn your review request into a survey. It is to collect more useful product detail with as little additional customer effort as possible.

Very little. For most engagements, we need the product you want analysed, its URL or SKU, an export of your reviews and your current review setup. We do the analysis. If you have return reasons, warranty or support data, or existing customer research, you can send that too — but it isn’t required. No store access is needed.

We can work with Okendo, Yotpo, Judge.me and Stamped, as well as review exports from other platforms. If you use something else, we can work from your export and design the recommended questions around what your platform supports.

The value is not the review software. It is knowing what your customers need to be asked and what to do with the information you already have.

Review Intelligence can help reduce avoidable returns by making fit, limitations and expectations clearer before purchase. It turns recurring review problems into better product information, helping buyers recognise when a product is or isn’t right for them.

If usable return data is available, we can also check whether the same issues appear in your return reasons. On a best selling product, preventing even a small number of avoidable mismatches can matter commercially.
